This award-winning Jazz harmonica and keyboard player
grew up in South Africa and is currently London-based. Adam has
played with artists such as Martha Reeves, Hugh Masekela and Dominic
Miller. He won the 2010 SAMA Award for Best Contemporary Jazz
Album and his current album Mzansi has been nominated Best Jazz
Album at the 2012 SAMA Awards. |

9th June - SIMON SPILLETT (sax)
Originally
influenced by the great Tubby Hayes, Simon has since forged an
original style which adds a contemporary touch to the grand tradition
of modern jazz saxophone. A winner of the Britich Jazz Award for
Tenor Saxophone in 2011 he had already won Rising Star in the
BBC Jazz Awards for 2007 and his CD "Sienna Red" won
the Jazz CD award in 2009. |

This
superb guitarist won the Grand Prize of the Jury and the Jazz
Guitar Prize at the Jazz a Juan Revelations 2006 and after a few
years in Boston, USA Nicolas now lives in the UK where he leads
his own band. "Meier

4th July - JAZZNIGHTS @ THE BURES FESTIVAL
Jazznights presents
a special jazz evening taking the form of a "Cherry Tree"
presentation as part of the Bures Festival. Larraine Odell &
the Jazznights Trio will get things moving in the time-honoured
fashion followed by a set from the Simon Hurley Quartet. The amazing
saxophonist Snake Davis will headline the evening with the Jazznights

on both saxophone and clarinet, his previous performances at

After
Oxford University and the Guildhall School of Music, Carlos then
studied with David Liebman in New York. For the past 7 years he
has been professor of contemporary jazz and rhythm studies at
the Guildhall and has led workshops up and down the country. "Carlos

recommendation from Emily Dankworth the young jazz singer Ben
Cox makes his debut at Jazznights. He is currently studying jazz
voice at the Guildhall and along with Emily he is a member of
the amazing six part close-harmony A Cappella group 'Vive'. Male
UK jazz singers have been few and far between until recently -
that's about to change! |
